QUOTE (Chana @ Jul 7 2009, 04:24 PM)
I'm reading Wall's book right now. It's breaking my heart. I'm looking for ways to help protect these children from a distance.

Welcome, Chana,

It's great that people want to help. I hope that truth brings the freedom and support that they need.

Unfortunately, this board seems quiet these days. No one but us "crazies" wandering the empty hallways these days.

There are a couple of different website to provide financial support, or give your options here for people to read and be influenced.

Thank you for caring.

QUOTE (Lara Avara @ Apr 8 2009, 03:58 PM)
Dang this board has been dead. I recently read Carolyn Jessop's and Elisa Wall's books on their experience in, and getting out of polygamous Colorado City. I have incredible admiration for their strength and courage.

Yeah, dang board.

How is everyone?

Gentile,
When you say Cottonwood, where exactly do you mean? Do you mean Cottonwood in Salt Lake valley?
There used to be FLDS living in SLC area up until 2002. Most were mass relocated in Jan.- Feb. 2002 to Colorado City just before the Olympics. Some didn't want to move and stayed there- but they had to leave ther FLDS to do this. It was move or apostatize.

This site certainly has died, amazing compared to a few years ago when it was so active. Any opinions on Flora's new book, of course I was especially interested in the chapter on Laurene.

Say, are the Jessops in Cottonwood, AZ. related to the Hildale and Colorado City Jessops? I have observed some familiar clothing styles in town from time to time. ph34r.gif

-the only teacher that was able to convince him that school was fun.

I hope she sees this post.

I believe both books brought up Warren's jailhouse confession on his unworthiness. Any word on the street on fallout?

Yeah,
I know this blog has been dead. I haven't read either book yet. It's on my "to-do" list. I admire them anyway. I always thought Caroline was a sweetheart. She was my little brother's teacher- the only teacher that was able to convince him that school was fun. I used to work at the store with her mother adn I thought her mother was awesome too.
