Full Version: The devil & Joseph Smith
confused
Most who believe in God, believe in the devil. Why couldn't Joseph Smith have been talking to the 'great deceiver'?

The first time around we have stone tablets and a few commandments, this time there's a hidden gold book. Which seams in conflict to the first time around.

Don't kill. Well it's OK this time as long as you're saving the person's soul.
Man was created in God's image. Well this time around, you get the idea.

Almost like somebody was saying, 'Let's use alot of flowery words to see how much confusion and discord we can create.'

If man needed clarification, why didn't it come 1,000 years earlier?

Any thoughts. I'm not trying to upset anyone here, I'm just confused....

You're confused ? Well all I can say is welcome to the world of religious believes . And that's what a religion is , just a bunch of believes a person chooses to believe in .

Think of it this way , finding something to believe in is kinda like trying to find your favorite cold cereal from the hundreds of different colorful boxes from the isles at Safeway .

You got your extra sugary to your extra healthy . Even though all the ingredients are listed on the box you still have to buy the box to know if you like the taste of this trial and error attempt .

Or you can do what most people do , just buy the same package your Mom bought and raised you on , I mean if it was good enough for dear ol Mom then it cant be half bad for you to stick with the rest of your life , right ?

Using the Bible , Book of Mormon , or any other religious manuscript as some sort of consumers report trying to decide what to believe or buy into aint what I'd call wise or frugal shopping if your trying to make a decision using reasoning alone .

Got a little secret for you Confused , it makes no sense trying to reason religion hoping all the pieces come together someday .

Its a big bad religious world out there where anything goes and everything you can imagine is possible . Yup , from parting of the seas , being swallowed up and spit out by a whale and maybe , just maybe having a thousand virgins as the secret prize waiting just for you at the bottom of your religious box of cereal .

Choose well Confused , For the time draweth nigh when all will be judged by the words written on the box, And on that day all boxes will be opened and will stand as testament of your religious breakfast cereal of believes , Thus saith Yankee lover of oat meal that was cooked before heaven and earth was created . Confused- that's just how it is. The Bible is only really old sayings of wise men and their beliefs that people still read and follow today. God did not write the Bible nor create religion- men did to fill the ache in their heart and comfort their own souls when what they really wished for (i.e another human to comfort them etc.) was not available to them.
