Easy for you to SAY- Sherlock , You selfish Hound of Baskerville , howl no more in my presence, you creature from the dark side . The light of day must come .
| QUOTE |
| I will fight and resist to the end as if and as in the attack of the metric system upon this great land . My foes of commonality through out the world only lower the ranks to preform less. To this end I fight the fight knowing it is variety and differences that truly sets men apart on bases of accomplishment determining earned reward . |
The light of day. yes indeed.
Yes, changing to the metric system is something we should have done two decades ago. It's this being caught between the two that creates these Don Quixote emotions in you and motivates you to joust with windmills. You are taller and weigh less in the metric system, that should make your day.
Jim may be right, I wondered myself if maybe this setting is a personal option that you lovers of traversing through the archaic diggs of ancient history can chose for yourself, but getting through all that the first time was rough enough for me. Incidentally.. the newest stuff in on top in archeology too... just thought I would point that out, that it is sort of more natural phenomenon.
| QUOTE |
You Marxist , student of Engels , I know you know , I feel your traders blade Brutus . Be quick and make clean your filthy work . Better to perish now than live in a house upside down or common as your commonality will allow . For I am different as I thought you . Dwell well . |
Nay friend, I am not a student of either of these dudes. But the humor isn't lost. As for you being different, yes I suspect that someone has hijacked your identity. And there is no need to stress yourself over Brutus unless you fancy yourself as Nero.
As for the traders blade, I would trade you pocket knives sight unseen. I have a strong suspicion that yours is bigger, better, and sharper than mine. Probably an Old Timer. Nah... on second thought, I'll keep my mini-leatherman. It only has a two inch blade (but I do keep it sharp) and it has a centimeter ruler on it.
I hope you don't have trouble finding this message... it will be at the top of the list in case you get lost in your old habit of looking around the bottom.

Yup you're dead right what you typed out , and I do carry a old timer .
But Cactus , Sayit here's my gripe about the metric system , I am stuck between the two systems . I dont really mind either one . Pick one and use it is what I'd prefer . I can can get use to all the old lingo going away , you know, ten yarder, board foot , cubic foot, a section of ground being a square mile .
But its those dang civil Eng. and architects that chap my hide . Mostly civil eng. use tenths and hundreds when calling out elevations . Mostly architects use feet and inches calling out dimensions . Well most times this isn't a issue , BUT, when they change back and forth between the two on the same plans shit can happen , sometimes their own shit , and yes when your out looking at faded plans in a wind storm, or just following the pattern you expect shit happens there . And yup when both civil and arcies have to make a elevation connection to each other you can get sewer shit going up hill.
Correction to you Sayit , I'm not jousting wind mills, I'm tired of fixing shit that didn't have to happen , or trying to check shit out to see if if its the right shit , no shit , just tired .
Cactus , um , I'm not sure but most likely if you pry open your wallet for less than fifty bucks you can buy a little calculator the will convert any figure you need , I mean , such a small amount , lets convert this cost into cases of beer shall we , for about 4 cases of bud you can save allot of drinking time , lets say , the time between 20-25 beer induced pissing cycles to help you understand the correlation of time , heck of a deal if you ask me .

Yep, that's the problem, being caught between the two systems. It isn't really such a problem using one or the other, but the conversions can be a real pita, and learning to translate everything back and forth. It is enough to drive you to drinkin' but then you'd still have to figure out how many liters was your limit, instead of ounces. Just round it to the nearest case, what the hell?
There are some pretty good online conversion sites, if you keep your laptop handy, but the real problem is that you have to eventually get where you relate instinctively to the other, or both systems... miles in kilometers, acreage in hectors, inches in centimeters, kilos to pounds etc. I can only imagine what a damn nightmare it would be to have to make all those cubic conversions.. cubic yards to cubic centimeters? I think the confusion is all part of the big NWO conspiracy to enslave us all. Just hope that your 6 x 6 cell is in meters instead of feet when you get blamed for the engineering failure.

Stuck between two systems? That’s what you are in life, stuck between two systems: The eternal FLDS theology of the cosmos, and the temporal world system. There are only two masters.
